Area Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found multiple other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to where it came from; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they added.
Local authorities announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.
A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism made him speechless and required to be resolved quickly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
